Sharlene and France

#onemoreShance

It was a beautiful morning wedding at Santuario de San Antonio, followed by a reception at Blue Leaf Pavillion.

The world is too small! I remember France shared to me during the meeting that Sharlene, the fiancé, is the sister of Angie, my batch mate in ICA. This is also the reason why there are a lot of familiar faces in this SDE. Haha!

Sharlene and France have been together for 7 years. They met in Citibank 2008, but started dating late 2009. He proposed at the rooftop of her apartment in Melbourne when he visited her last October 2015. They are now based in Melbourne.

When I asked France what he loves most about Sharlene? He says just the sweetest things about her. “She’s very patient and adventurous. We both love to travel, and try out different cuisines. But I guess the most important is, she’s probably the only one in the world who understands me and therefore puts up with me”

France is definitely lucky to have Sharlene in her life. FYAM is absolutely honored to have captured this beautiful moment in their lives.

John Michael and Marie Kris

When Love Comes

John Michael and Marie Kris got married at Santuario de San Jose, followed by an intimate reception at EDSA Shangri-la.

I was listening to the speech of Jomi’s brother. He was sharing that Jomi told them while they were at Disneyland, “may classmate ako, sobrang ganda at matalino. Balang araw liligawan ko siya.”

Last Sunday, Jomi married the girl of his dreams. It was Marie Kris he was talking about. They are both doctors who studied in UST. Jomi plans to specialize in Opthalmology while MK, in Dermatology. I knew Jomi because we shot his parents’ 25th Wedding Anniversary. That wedding was very unforgettable! It was full of love, and we really felt how Drs. Lina and Jorge were truly an inspiration for them. I remember a very wise advise of his father was, “pag ready ka na magpatalo habang buhay, ready ka na rin magpakasal” in jest.

Alex and Paco

Let's Be Boring Together

Alex and Paco tied the knot at The Holy Trinity Church, followed by a beautiful reception at Conrad Manila.

During our meeting, I didn’t recognize Alex right away. She was the one who reminded me that we used to be in the same theatre group called Artistang Artlets in UST, until she decided to move to Enderun. There, she met Paco. They were both sharing that they now manage a restaurant called Croque Cafe and Bakery in Makati. It is beautiful to see these two pursuing their dreams together.

Paco was very quiet during the meeting. But I was really surprised to hear his vows. It was really funny and genuine! I can totally see how Alex and Paco make a really good team!

Here’s an excerpt of Paco’s vows:
“How can 2 boring people enjoy each other’s company too much? We travel just to enjoy our favorite food. Travel to famous and remote places just to taste the authentic ensaymada or lechon. We enjoy eating so much, that people notice our physical transformation. So all I can say is, let’s stay boring!”

Jovie and Cara

Love Is Magic

Jovie and Cara got married a few weeks ago at Montecito Chapel, followed by a reception at Pasa Tiempo, Nuvali.

When you finally found your person, you cannot in any way, let them go. That’s what Jovie did when he met Cara. I was listening intently through the vows, and I can’t help but smile and wish everyone felt the same kind of love. A feeling of looking forward to a life with someone, is simply magic.

Here’s an excerpt of Jovie’s vows:
“Dear Cara, I’m so excited to start this journey with you. One that will never end. I look forward to being with you everyday, and then starting a family with you. You truly make me feel like I’m the luckiest man in the whole world. We made it! What a rollercoaster 6 months. I loved every minute. Now you are my wife, wow!”

Chiara and Philip

Right Time

Chiara and Philip have been together for 6 years.  Philip is a PBA player for Globalport, while Chiara is finishing her PhD. They both met in DLSU. Chiara shares she was helping Philip with school work, and that’s where it all began.

I remember during the meeting, the mom of Chiara, asked me: “Therese! Are you married?” I replied: “oh no Tita, one week palang kami ng boyfriend ko.” Then she asked again, “what if he proposes to you?” Me: “AHH! Sure na yes po sagot ko.” Then 2 months after, true enough, my husband proposed, and we got married.

But this is about Chiara and Philip’s wedding!

They got married at Santuario de San Jose, followed by a beautiful dinner reception in their house at Greenmeadows. It’s actually our first time to shoot a reception in a house here in Manila. I was surprised at how beautiful the house was styled by Ariel Penarroyo by Big A Prod. I saw it from a plain garden turned to an amazing reception venue. How cool is that? They wanted to get married there, because her brother got married in the same venue. I guess keeping all the best memories in one place is a smart idea.

Cris and Kristian

14yrs. In The Making

Cris and Kristian tied the knot at Madre de Dios Chapel, followed by a beautiful reception at Midlands Veranda, Tagaytay.

Cris: “Our love story was not a love at first sight. Or maybe it was only for you, when you saw me. Slowly, I fell in love with you.”

Cris and Kristian are both doctors. They were classmates during pre-med, but became bf/gf during med school. Cris shares how hard it is to do all the wedding preparations due to their busy schedules as doctors. I was asking Cris if she had notes for her wedding. She just requested: “wag super close up sa face ko pag umiyak ako.” Oh, I love quirky requests! But the best advise I always share to my clients, is to just enjoy your wedding day!

Namhee and Benjy

Love, Love, Love!

Benjy and Namhee got married at San Sebastian church, followed by a beautiful reception at the Rigodon Ballroom in Peninsula Manila.

Oh how we love to shoot familiar faces! We shot Benjy’s sister’s wedding last year, which was Carla and Jonathan’s wedding. Now, it’s Benjy and Namhee’s turn to tie the knot!

I was actually wondering why Benjy and Namhee never messaged me to have a meeting with them. But! They mentioned that they wanted to have a video like Reggie and Francis’ wedding. I was wondering how he saw it because we didn’t release it due to copyright licensing rules. But for my lightbulb moment, he was also a friend of Reggie, our FYAM client.

ANYWAYS! Let’s talk about Benjy and Namhee.

Benjy and Namhee are both based in South Korea. They work in Samsung, and have been together for a year. Benjy has been based in South Korea for 3.5years, while Namhee has been living there all her life. We are so glad to capture this amazing wedding. We felt like we were shooting a Korean teleserye with Namhee as our FYAM Bride.

Thea and Lorenz

10years

Thea and Lorenz tied the knot at Our Lady of Lourdes in Tagaytay last December just before Christmas, followed by a beautiful reception in Narra Hill.

These two have been together for 10 years! Thea shares that they became bf/gf just right after she turned 18. Who would think that she’ll be marrying the same person seated beside her during their college orientation. How cool is that! I don’t even remember the person I’m seated beside college orientation. haha! Well, I guess it’s destiny for Thea and Lorenz.
